Hi, normaly my.cnf is in the share directory of mysql (with RedHat this normaly is /usr/share/mysql). You just have to take one of the predefined (my-huge.cnf,my-large.cnf,my-small.cnf etc) and copy it to /etc (renaming it to my.cnf) .. That's all I think.
