A colleague who is connecting to mysqld started as "/u/local/mysql/bin/safe_mysqld --user=mysql --safe-show-database --default-character-set=ujis -O wait_timeout=$WAITTIMEOUT -O max_connections=$MAXCONNECTIONS &" has encountered the following problem:
"We could not add data which contains 0xADA1 (2 byte char that shows circled '1'). The char seemed to be stored as '?' into the table." Any ideas about what the problem is? Or perhaps the appropriate forum in which to ask this question?
