Afternoon We are currently using MySql to drive our web server. We are in the process of pondering the thought of using it for our meat and potatoes applications. The problem/blessing is that our current database is Informix which comes with its own 4gl. In order for us to move to MySql we would have to learn a new language. I'm looking for opinions on what would be the best backend (Unix) language for batch transactional processing. Our current databases are about 16 mil records and we process anywhere from 100,000 to 1,000,000 transactions per day.
