Hi, OK - Here's plain text. I don't know anybody else that uses it, so let's see if you accept it THIS time!
I have a network made up of two PCs, one is Win98 and the Server is Linux. I am not using NIS, preferring to use "host" instead. I can ping each machine at either end and Samba works just fine. When I try to connect to the Linux Server using MySQLManager on the Win98 box, it says the MySQL server is unknown. Does MySQL need NIS?
