Newbie alert here...! Making my first attempt at changing a variable... I am trying to add this line:
set-variable = safe_show_database=ON To the my.cnf file... But when I do that and then attempt to restart MySQL, it doesn't... Give the can't connect to the mysql.sock error. This is on RedHat 7.3, MySQL 3.23.51. I am using the /etc/my.cnf if that matters.
