When I try to connect to the MySql server on localhost I get the following error:

Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' (2)

I am not quite sure what this means.

I am running Mac OS X 10.2.3. Before I upgraded from 10.1, I had no problems, but now am unable to connect at all.

Is it possible to remove MySql (and how do I go about it) so that I can reinstall it again?

Sorry if these are stupid questions, but I can't seem to find how to uninstall MySql in the manual.

Thanks
