Open a terminal/console Window and type: mysql
If You got an error message You have to follow these steps: su mysql_install_db chown -R mysql.mysql /var/mysql chmod 577 /var/mysql
then go in the Application/Utility folder and launch the MySqlMonitor Click on "Launch at startup".
I followed these step with Mac OS X Server (10.2.3).
