I would like to be able to set a user variable on startup of MySQL. I have review the documentation and searched the archives and I haven't seen anything about being able to do, or not do this.
Can this be done? Since I'm unable to find reference to it, my guess is no, but I thought I'd give the list a try to see if could get some input on this. We are currently running version 4.0.7 in production.
