You should use AVG() with SEC_TO_TIME() and TIME_TO_SEC() functions.

Finally got it to work with the functions you mentioned.. (think so at least.. if there is a better way please let me know.
Used: SELECT SEC_TO_TIME(AVG(TIME_TO_SEC(AVG_TT))) AS Avg_Talk_Time FROM table WHERE agent_ln = "name"
Came out with an average of 00:06:50 - when using 00:09:15 - 00:04:26
