One mail should be enough in most cases! You may try to edit your host.mid file in \mysql-dir\data\mysql. Make a backup of that file before you start and use a hex-editor for doing so. The first chars in there should look like "ÿlocalhost; EcolMod1". Simply overwrite (not erase) what you don't need with spaces (20 hex). You need to restart mysql to apply changes made.
