its a fresh install of RH AS 3u1 (basically the same setup as rh 9)- minimal installation with one or two rpms from the cds added afterwards the mysql source tarball is upacked in /moat-files/mysql-4.0.18/
here is my ld.so.conf if it helps
/usr/kerberos/lib /usr/X11R6/lib /usr/local/mysql/lib/mysql /usr/local/lib /usr/local/intel/lib . thanks yonah
