Reggie I was hoping to perform the mysql installation myself. I was also hoping that I don't have to install the full suite as available on the site, but a subset of that. What I am looking for is the list of necessary files that I need to install mysql, to package with my VB application. I will be using the package & deployment feature in VB.NET to create the installer.
In the meantime, I will check out the command line help to see if I can find to command to install mysql as a service, and probably grant user access as well. Are you going to run the mysql installer or perform the install yourself? If you are going to perform the install yourself, you could install the service by simply running the mysql binary with the --install option.
