LimeWire, maker of the famous file-sharing program and digital music store, seeks an experienced MYSQL DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR. The DBA team is in charge of all the company's internal and customer-facing production databases. Send resumes to [email protected] Responsibilities * Support and maintain high volume, high availability production databases * Administer and support existing databases while insuring optimized performance, stability, monitoring, and uptime * Work with software, network & systems engineers to define requirements for and implement new databases to meet the growing needs of the business * Work with the engineering team to implement new design/systems of databases used by the company * Insure successful backups & recovery and do refresh of Dev/QA/Staging environments * On call 24-7 to maintain database uptime Requirements * 4+ years of hands-on experience administering customer-facing databases as MySQL DBA 5.0/5.1 on Linux environment * Understanding of master-slave replication * Strong Linux skills * Experience with NDB a plus * Ability to write bash/perl scripts for monitoring, capacity planning, backups, and replication start /stop * Proficiency in at least one general-use programming (C, C++, Java) or scripting language (Perl, Python, Ruby, Tcl, PHP) * Demonstrated problem solving abilities and initiative To Apply Send resumes to [email protected] More About The Company LimeWire is the maker of the most popular file-sharing software in the world.
