Now I am  getting no more errors. see below.

Can anybody please let me know how I can test the notifications?

It means that host is not defined in your configuration.  Please reply to list 
not to individual people.  Thanks

With this configuration only nagiosadmin will get the email.  You need to 
define contact group properly.  Please see the following documentation.  Thanks

click on tactical overview from the left hand side and see if you have nagios 
notification enable or disabled.
