What did you decide to do, I may have missed that post ? You may look into your state laws also, in Florida the law is very plain, about how much space is given by law per tech. And trust me it is not a 4 X 4 space! Personally I have no idea why you are staying there. Rent or no rent reduction. You need to re evaluate what you truly think of yourself and your chosen profession and then, have a heart to heart w/ the owner ( one on one). Invite them to lunch. Then say this is what I need etc etc, put it in writing, have a contract ready and ask them right then.. to consider it.
