The instructions that come with the product say that it should only be used on natural nails that are no longer than 1/8 “ from the smile line, that natural nails are in good condition, and natural nails are not overly thin, flexible or damaged. If longer than that, they recommend the gel polish should be used over a foundation of Axxium gels. Of course, I read that part after I’d already sent her home after the service. I didn’t hear from her again for 6 weeks and I was convinced she’d experienced problems because the nails were too long for that type of application. When she returned 6 weeks later, the polish was all still intact. Some of you have seen the picture I posted of her 6-week nails on my Facebook page. Her own nails are very strong and thick, definitely not flexible or thin, and I’m convinced this prevented any issues. I have clients with very long natural nails that I would love to do this on but want to be certain they will be fine. Lynnette, It really does depend on the wearer. But as a general rule SOG doesn't work well for sculpting long nails. It's wonderful as an overlay on nails such as Deb's. Some SOG's do have building properties to them BUT again not for adding significant length, more so for sculpting an "active" length nail. When you say you didn't have success with using SOG over ac because it peeled...are you referring to SOG polish?
