I had a client who went to a nss salon to get her fill. She was demanding that they had gel polish if they did gel naills. I'm not sure why she thought that, but anyway, They ended up painting her nails with regular nail polish. Had her sit for 30 min to dry, then applied gel top coat and cured. It was the most awful stuff to get off. It never really dried. You could take your fingernail and move it around her nail but couldnt get the stuff off. I tried using sanding bands to file it off but it kept gumming them up and I was going through a band a nail. I finally used a carbide bit and that worked better. I have never in my life seen such a mess. They had filed rings of fire around her cuticles and the polish was stuck down in the grooves. I couldn't get it out and was to afraid to file it out. NASTY is all I can say. She learned her lesson on going to cheap places but I was the one that had to pay for that mistake.

Just wondering if you use nailpolish, why not just put a gel topcoat over it and then it shouldn't chip, right? Then it would definitely soak off, just file the clear topcoat off. It would be a lot cheaper than to buy all the gel polish and you'd have a lot more colors. Then again, I guess if this was possible, it would have already been done? -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "NailTech" group.
