Weird. I do EXACTLY what Lynnette does, and mine files off in a powder, with no peeling really unless I got it on the cuticle somewhere. I believe the OPI product Lynnette couldn't remember the name of is BondAid... that is what I use. I don't know. That is just weird. I do shaping/file off of old color, cuticle work, and scrub. Then I have clients go wash with a brush, and do the soak off gel when they come back. Then, I do the oil, mask, paraffin, and massage. And off they go....
Holly, I hear ya on the filing off of sog... seems silly. And I would agree with you. The ONLY reason I use the Axxium is not because it is soak off, but because my clients like having the same color as the polishes. Period. They have good name recognition. I would use the Axxium even if it wasn't "soak off". I tried IBD color gels a few years back, and they never took off because clients were like "I'll just wear I'm Not Really a Waitress". I say "This is the exact same color!". They say "No, not quite. I'll just wear the polish." Whatever. Now, the OPI color doesn't match exactly, but it has the same name so they think it looks alike... whatever!! I am curious about Gelish, mostly because of the LED light, and Shellac because I use Creative for my manicures.... But I know I will still have a market for OPI Axxium no matter what.... and I use Axxium traditional gels, and I like the "using everything from one line" thing....
