I watched a demo 2 weeks ago with Tracy an Young Nails Educator , applying nail polish to YN Mani Q . She used a deep red , it was an Essie polish and a very light pink one , used for a french mani , she mixed gel and polish , then applied on to the nail. She had all of us saying wow because the color was the same as the bottle , she had a drop of polish next to the gel mixture to see how the color was the same. I believe the ratio is 50/50 for dark colors and 60/40 for light colors. I asked if she had any product breakdown or any issues from her clients , she told me none yet!! It sold me , I have some polishes I will like to have in gel form , especially the OPI " Absolutely Alice" and " My Private Jet" I will keep you posted ...

I mixed my color on Friday and it is still in the jar because I made a tad too uch. It is perfectly fine-did not harden at all. Just the perfect consistency. ot sheer at all. was given this tip from a very well respected tech who has been doing this for uite some time and has had no problems. She should come forward and take the redit. This was not my idea, I just ran with it. t makes PERFECT sense for clients who wear the same color that is not made in ny of the SO lines. f it is done on a palette, there is no waste. knew my old Entity jars would come in handy for something!! It stores the ixed colors perfectly! oo bad it did not work for you. I am so glad I was given this tip. uenos dias, ynnette ent via BlackBerry from T-Mobile -----Original Message----- rom: [email protected] ate: Sun, 11 Apr 2010 16:45:33 o: NailTech<[email protected]> ubject: Re: NailTech:: RE: nail polish in gel base I experimented with polish & gels last year and decided it was not a good idea nless you were happy with a shear tint. We found that to get intensity of color you had to add quite a bit of polish and hat compromised the strength of the gel. Also, remember that polish has evaporants in it and it will cause the whole pot ou've mixed to thicken as it sits open. They did not keep well in the gel pots used, either. And you can only mess with the product on the nail for a limited ime before it starts to harden. I decided mixing them myself was not worthwhile. Maybe there's some value in his for a specific purpose (perfectly matching that bride's maid dress?) but ot for me on a daily basis.
