When I have a client that lifts like that I use acid primer first then
the non-acid primer. I have a client that lifts when she is on birth
control pills and the extra primer helps.

When my thyroid meds need to be adjusted I experience lifting. I am
hypothyroid, if that helps.

Subject: NailTech:: Thyroid Meds and Lifting?

Hey gang I need some help.  I have a new client who is experiencing lifting on
her nails.  I did a natural nail overlay a week ago and she came back 4 days
later with (slight) lifting on one nail.   She phoned two days after that to
say they were all lifting now.  She’s coming in tomorrow and I am either going
to remove the product or repair it.  I use traditional gels.

I have to say, the lifting I saw on the one nail was microscopic, so I don’t
know if she is just uber picky or not.  But in the meantime, in case there
really is a lot of lifting tomorrow when I see her nails, do any of you know if
thyroid meds cause issues with enhancements?  I thought I read somewhere that
they do…but I could just be imagining it.

I do not have any lifting on any other clients and all the usual suspects have
been eliminated (prep, bulbs, etc).  I’m specifically asking here about thyroid
meds causing this problem.

Any and all answers will be appreciated!
