The higher percentage alcohol is actually safer.   It removes that final
"uncured" layer left behind when curing gels.  70% alcohol is cut down with
water which does nothing to that layer.  There is a risk that you're
exposing the skin surrounding the nail to uncured gel.  The 99% safely
removes that and by removing all of it gives a much more shiny appearance.

Also, if you are not using 1 pad per nail, you're also risking a future
allergic reaction for your client.  As you wipe that layer gets on to the
pad and skin.  If you use that same pad on the next nail, you're only adding
more uncured gel to the next nail (thus less shine).  I always wipe with one
side of a lint free pad, then flip and wipe the same nail (and skin) again
to be sure I haven't left any of that layer on the skin.  Then I toss that
pad into the trash and take a new one.

I so wish I would have been there to hang with all of you.  I already saw
Debbie's pictures and it really looks like you had fun "and talked about
nails".   ahahaha
