Carol, I figured this out while trying to soak off both of my hands one day... Use little strips of flex wrap to secure foil around the finger. It is self sticking and works well... you can buy it online at the www.industrysource.com or many other online sites. Also petsmart sells it fairly cheap. I comes in different widths... the narrower one is good for this.... check around tho..many sites sell it higher priced... I usually buy a roll for like 1.47 or something like that.
