I buy my acetone from Sally's because I've always been under the
impression that acetone is acetone is acetone, ya know? Clue me in if
I'm wrong, but what other ingredient could another company add to
their acetone to make it soak off faster? Inquiring minds want to
know!

Possibly only do the Gelish base on the free edge....maybe that would
help? I haven't tried that method yet. I also had horrendous problems
soaking Gelish off, until I began using Shellac base and topcoat with
the Gelish colors.

For 1-2 clients I have to use strictly Gelish from start to finish
because their nails are so weak. But I have learned to apply the
Gelish base so thin as to it almost being non-existant and NOT apply
the topcoat liberally, but very sparingly, too. Then I have less of an
issue soaking all the Gelish off.

I think Gelish is more like OPI's Axxium in a bottle, which is a SOG
whereas Shellac is more like fingernail polish with the drying
capabilities of gel. That's why Shellac soaks off in a flash and
Gelish does not:)
