I agree with the others you will not regret extra baby time, I took 5 years off from the salon and he was well worth it. If you miss it then its gone, there will always be nails.

I got into soak off gels (which I'm obsessed with, but I stuck with one brand), having a baby and cutting my hours to 2 days a week were the culprit. I also didn't keep track of expenses and inventory like I should have. But if it happens again this year I'm considering just being a SAHM. I see many techs who drop tons of money on new products etc, only to not use them. You have to plan every dollar spent and each dollar has to have a purpose. I work three days a week and rent as well. I have to plan my purchases and I don't typically get new stuff unless it is planned. When everyone on this list was spending money left and right for this or that new SOG, I had to wait and methodically plan my purchases. Watching the bottom line is key to business success whether u rent a station or own a salon. I would have went under when I owned my salon if I ordered everything my techs wanted me to :-) Sent from my U.S. Cellular BlackBerry® smartphone From: Sherri Evans <thenail...@gmail.com> Sender: nailtech@googlegroups.com Date: Sun, 20 Mar 2011 11:52:53 -0700 To: <nailtech@googlegroups.com> ReplyTo: nailtech@googlegroups.com Subject: Re: NailTech:: after expenses I wouldn't work for that. If you can't make the same or more on your own than you could as am employee it isn't worth out in my opinion. Maybe consider more days a week or raising prices our seeing where your can cut costs on supplies. I pay rent that is reasonable, I charge the going rate on my services and I stay pretty busy. I did all right considering that I only work three days a week. But with so much going to costs, is it worth it? -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "NailTech" group.
