Karen, our owners checked these out and I saw
them at the Chicago Show. Don't know if these
chairs are the ones that this salon has.
The pipeless chairs VIBRATE the water. There is
zero rotating or circulation of water thru the
pipes. There was only a drain for the
water. Just like a regular sink of bathtub, but
metal rods running thru the tub that vibrated the
water. If your chairs have a screen, I would
wonder why there is a screen if it was advertised
pipeless. What is the screen for?
I was thinking these chairs would be so much
easier to clean, but then again, the vibrating
rods/bars would have to be cleaned anyway.
Good Luck on your new
salon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and move!!!!!!!!!!!!!! diana from indiana

OK Gals....you know me. I may be on the cutting
edge of the nail industry because of you
guys...but I’ve been rockin’ it old school with the pedi bowls! lol
I just got hired by a fun, edgy salon and the
owner has pedi thrones. She says they are
pipeless...and there is nothing to clean behind
the screw off cap of the jets. Is that
right? If I unscrew the cap/screens...there is
a round turbine that is a magnet that clamps
itself on to a metal thingie behind each
one....and “occasionally you can pop those off
and wipe them down.” Is that all there is? She
says all I have to do is spray the bowl with a
disinfectant spray and wipe it out....and
unscrew the the screens and be sure there is no
debris behind them. She was given no
documentation when she bought the chairs so
there is nothing for me to read....She has had
them about a year and has had 4 nailtechs in
there and the last one gave a 2 week notice a
few days ago and then left today when the owner
was out, so can’t ask her. I asked her if she
ever ran bleach water in them and she said “they
are pipeless...that’s not necessary” I’m just
wanting to be sure I will be cleaning them
completely. Truthfully...I always just sorta
skimmed these posts...so any feedback any of you
can give me will be most appreciated!!!
Next question....this is an Aveda Lifestyle
salon...(there are different levels of Aveda
Salons)...and I need info quick on the products
I could possibly use in services. I know there
is a “Hand Relief” and a “Foot Relief”....but
what other products could I build a pedicure around?
This is really going to be fun I think! I spent
weeks....since I first dropped off resumes in
March...trying to get hired by 2 different,
large 4-diamond resort spas...and the corporate
run-around is crazy. This salon is on the 1st
floor right off the plaza of the Williams
Center—a very large professional building with
13 floors of businesses. I have been in there
three times this week, and really like the
staff. They’re young and fun and trendy. (I’m
putting feathers in my hair tomorrow!)
One of my times in there was to do trial
services...I did a Shellac manicure and a
pedicure....very awkward when you don’t have
your work area set up like you are used to, but
the results turned out great. As a thank you for
coming in...the owner treated me to a color
service and trim and blow dry for my hair! Very
classy, I think. (Not to mention, the color is
fabulous....and I will brag on it to everyone I talk to, now!)
I’m going in for my first day tomorrow...there
are no nail appointments on the books, but I
will be giving hot towel hand treatments to
every one who sits still for 5 minutes! lol Wish me luck!!!
KeyzKaren who is a
very excited girl!!
PS....forgot to mention...this salon is 4 blocks from my apt!
