Well....went in with my things and zero appointments on the books. Was there 15 minutes and trying to sort out crazily packed tub of implements and products labeled "nail cart" from Morning Glory when the receptionist came to me and said, "you have an express pedicure"!! Yikes! One of the stylists had upsold the service while his hair client processed. Quickly pulled together a pedi basket...and did the pedi. She loved it...and has said she'll book a regular pedi with me next time. Cleaned up from that, and took hot towels, a tube of Hand Relief and a hand sanitizer around the salon and did hot towel hand treatments for every client getting hair done. Did that for a couple of rounds while finishing up nail desk and pedi basket and getting implements all disinfected. (The system here is a 10-minute soak in disinfectant, followed by drying, then placing in steri-paks and heating in a heat sterilizer for 30 minutes til pack indicator changes color.)
A hand treatment lead to a mani/pedi from another hair client. But I upsold that from an express mani to a Shellac service, and she's thrilled to find me. Has just moved back to the area after graduating from Okla Univ. and has been missing her nail tech in Norman. The owner gave me permission to do a few complimentary services (my apartment complex office staff are getting treated!) and even put together cute little promotional sacks----very tiny black paper bags with a mint, a pinkie of Solar Oil a business card and an ink pen with the salon name. I contribued some black nail files (the color scheme is black and white) and told her I would print off some of Holly's promotional info on Shellac to put in each bag. We clipped the pens on the sides of the bags, and they hold the business cards on the outside of the bags. Very cute looking! So...all in all...I came home thrilled! And exhausted! And very pleased to have ended up with three services starting from nothing! This is gonna be fun! And thanks for the ideas on the pedi chairs...I found a similar model and downloaded the instructions to take in. They recommend running the unit with a disinfectant for 10 minutes once a week. Oh...and am keeping a cleaning log right there on the chair, too. Karen...who is tickled pink! -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "NailTech" group.
