"The Real" Jerry Garcia... he had a great sense of humor! Whatever happened to him, I wonder?
Regarding the dip systems: I used Backscratchers Extreme for years for my clients with sensitivities to acrylic. Worked great. It goes on easily and looks beautiful. BUT I always had problems with it as it aged, it lost its clarity and got "cloudy" looking. Plus, resin breaks down fast. The product would become brittle after a few fills. I was far less inclined to soak off/re-set on a regular basis back then. If I was going to add dips back to my menu, I would probably do one or two fills tops on them, or do it like you (Jill.) When Brisa came out with its "hypoallergenic" labeling, I switched to that...as years have gone by, I now find I can use about any gel product on my "allergic" clients with excellent results. Also-- purely for the sake of trivial information: the cost analysis of the dip systems vs gel vs acrylic came out the CLEAR loser as far as cost per service break down goes! Turns out, the resins were THE most expensive product I used on a regular basis! A single dip system service cost 4 times as much as a set of acrylics! I still LOVE Backscratchers Extreme base resin as my primary adhesive though. Maggie Franklin: Owner & Artist, The Art of Nailz, Visalia CA "Visionary rebel dreamer; obviously way ahead of my time."
