BUT... they MUST link against a GPL'ed libraries

talk to it because to talk to it they need to
link-in their libs and the libs are GPL?

If their libs are *all* GPL then NO APPLICATION ON EARTH
can talk to Mysql without risking being infected with
GPL virus. Because to talk to it, you need the libraries.
And the libs are GPL'ed. Vicious circle...

I still cannot believe this is true, as this
is totally, universally and absolutely ridiculous.
