Bill,

Thanks, having been on this list a couple of months
its a little wierd addressing the regulars in person.
I'm almost nervous.

Anyway, you guessed correct, you might say I am not
from or in the continental United states per se.
I am however in the general US governed area, 7500
miles away in a little country we like to call
"India."

Alright, I'm done with the sarcasm now. My name is
Dhananjay (dj for short), I am a mechanical engineer,
and work for the Raman research institute, where as
one of our projects we are building a wing-sail
catamaran.

I call it a backyard project because we are'nt geared
toward or have ever done anything like this in the
past, the Institute primarily works on Astro-physics,
(as you can tell from the dish!) theoretical physics
and Liquid crystals.

So, as far as expertise goes we have none.
The project runs on the spirit of some sailing
enthusiasts here.

We are building, on campus, in Bangalore, which is 300
miles from the nearest coast as I said.
We began almost 4 years ago, and completed the hull
and beam design 2 years later, but started work in
earnest about a year ago. That probably surmises all
there is to know.

Regards,
Dhananjay Anand
