Possibly not.  Switching is at a higher frequency than a mains transformer, 
which makes it easier to filter out.  The usual issue I run into is radiated, 
inductively coupled, and capacitively coupled switcher noise getting into 
sensitive circuits.  That's why this solution is appealing: all the switching 
circuitry is far away in a wall wart and only DC(ish) power is brought away 
from it.  I'm guessing that with a little care on the power input, I could 
banish the switching noise quite well.

Since JT is offering to let people try units out, I may be able to test this 
directly.
