They were used by the BBC in the UK. There are plenty of machines about and finding a good one should not be too hard. Carrying one is another matter!! Many of my clients have one stashed away somewhere now superseded by the dreaded digits but often get the comment they would like to use it if tape were not so expensive. Locate a decent tech for any proposed machine as they will need occasional work but given a slack hand of spare modules (spare machine??) you should be OK.
