The Buss Outs are your first 26 sends to "tape". Channels 27-40 are direct outs. There should be a 2nd EDAC with those channels on it.

Hey guys,
   Here's another freshman question. My 93 Elite is 40 x 26 x 8. I
understand the connection for "Out of Multitrack Tape Machine 1-40".
That will let me bring back 40 tracks from my 2 Alesis HD24
recorders. I'm a bit confused about sending the signal out to the
HD24s. Do I connect the cable to the "Buss Outputs" connection? Since
the board is a 26 buss, do I only have 26 sends out to the inputs of
the recorders or would the "Buss Outputs" connection send 40 signals?
I'd like to be able to send out 40 signals if I can without having to
repatch at the recorder end. I need to reterminate my cable ends with
the correct plugs, but I don't want to get into that until I know
what my limitations are.
