Hey Pete, It sounds like you have a problem that is going to come to a head soon. You might want to clean or exercise the power supply connections if it doesn't 'wake up' one day. Regardless, if you are using the board consecutive days/weeks I recommend not turning it off. Components do get stressed every time you switch the thing on. Generally speaking, Neoteks are cool running consoles, compared to Neve, SSL, and other large format consoles. They won't dry out capacitors or wear down components as fast just by being on. We have two Neotek boards that, other than power outages and normal servicing, haven't been turned off in 15 years. If we had been cycling the power on and off every day, I would guarantee we would have blown a few regulators, switches, and who knows what else... I know there is two schools of thought, and I don't think it would be right to do for every piece of equipment, but for these guys, I would say so.
