Hm, Plasma still hangs once I add the applet to a panel...

yes i did :/ wasn't really noticing any unusual "hickups" in plasma, but at the
moment I'm used to a slow system, due to a lot of computations for my
master thesis ;) Anyway I've fixed it and the DataEngine uses asnc calls
everywhere now.
