The default setting in my nessusd.conf is:

        ssl_version = SSLv3

I believe by default Nessusd uses TLSv1 rather than SSLv3 for SSL.
Check the setting of ssl_version in your nessusd.conf (if missing or
commented out, it's TLSv1).  Or simply experiment with different
settings in NessusWX.
