After the installation finished, it printed a couple of messages on what
you should do next. I suggest writing them on a paper and following
them.

Okay, when you don't understand something it's dangerous pressing
return, ESPECIALLY when running as root. Therefore you should have read
the FAQ at http://www.nessus.org/doc/faq.html

If you skip one of the initial steps of the installation (as you did),
then the whole process is invalidated. You need to read what each
command does, understand it, and THEN do it.

Welcome to the linux world :-)

As I said, the command <echo $PATH> will tell you what your current path
is. If that doesn't include directories where the nessus binaries
reside, it's logical that bash cannot find them and execute them. TO
overcome thst, you need to supply the full path to the binaries.

Good luck
