I think it's time to clarify my position regarding Nessus 1.2, as Nessus
2.0 proves to be much more robust and can be deployed already.

1. Nessus 1.0
-------------

As Nessus 1.0 users should have been notified during their last
nessus-update-plugins, Nessus 1.0 is End-Of-Lifed. No new script will be
commited to it, and I won't even bother to reply to bug reports for this
version. Don't use it, don't use it, please upgrade.

2. Nessus 1.2
--------------

Plugins for major new flaws (ie: the latest sendmail flaw) will continue
to be integrated in Nessus 1.2 for three month maximum. The reason
behind is that Nessus 2.0 contains an extended version of the NASL
language, so 1.x plugins can easily run with Nessus 2.x, but the
opposite is not true. Therefore, if I wanted to fully support Nessus
1.2, I'd have to spend at least twice as long on each script, which
I simply can't do. So please upgrade if you have not done already done
so.

I'll open the branch NESSUS_2_0 as early as next week, therefore
starting the developement of Nessus 2.1.x.

If you did not upgrade to Nessus 2.0 and don't intend to do so for some
valid reason, I'd be interested in knowing why. Please upgrade, trust
me, there's no coming back.
