i installed nessus successfully. But when iam running nessus, sometimes the test is getting stuk.When i saw the nessusd.messages i observed the following
[Tue May 27 16:45:27 2003][593] user viny : launching nmap_wrapper.nes against 5.221.3.456 [598]
the test is stuck for a longtime.so i killed the session.
any ideas?
"Stuck for a longtime" Is not a very cientific way to tell how much time did the test take. However, if you are scanning a server that is behind a packet filtering element (for example a firewall) and using the default nmap behaviour or a wide range of ports, expect it to take quite some time to finish (unless you set Nmap to 'Aggressive' or 'Insane', but I wouldn't recommend the latter).
