This has something to do with running Nmap and/or Nessus as root. It may be SuSE root user settings, or new kernel features in 2.4.21 Please check the following:

Then it means that for some reason, Nessus can't ping the remote hosts. Maybe it's the way your network card works. maybe it's because there is a firewall on your nessusd host and that prevents some packets from going out.
