No SMB will not give you access to a Novell network. Although if you have a standard admin user and password on each workstation; Nessus will run the checks on those workstations with that user/pass. If you're concerned about the vulnerabilities on the Novell server, I have run many vulnerability scans against production Novell 4, 5, 6 servers without being logged into the Novell network and found that the results were more precise when I enabled DoS and disabled safe checks.
