No SMB will not give you access to a Novell network. Although if you have a
standard admin user and password on each workstation; Nessus will run the
checks on those workstations with that user/pass. If you're concerned about
the vulnerabilities on the Novell server, I have run many vulnerability
scans against production Novell 4, 5, 6 servers without being logged into
the Novell network and found that the results were more precise when I
enabled DoS and disabled safe checks.

Subject: SMB Access on Novell Networks

I am doing scans against Windows machines on a Novell based network. I was
wondering if I put in SMB login/password information into the nessus
configuration file if it would login to the machines correctly on the Novell
network. I have done this on Windows based networks fine and it logs in and
does the additional checks. Will this work on a Novell network or is SMB
not supported on Novell networks? I have tried researching this on the
internet and haven't found much useful information on whether SMB is
supported or not on Novell networks.
