Nessus has helped hundreds of companies, big and small, to achieve a higher level of systems reliability and security. In the Linux Open Source community there is the Corporate Contribution model to help both the developers and the development of the software. Do you guys have any model like that?. Before, I personnaly though that would have not been hard to sell management on spending a couple of thousand dollars a year as a return for using the product. I know that Tenable is supposed to cross the bridge but maybe a mixed model is still possible. Now that the money is starting to flow again into the veins of corporate America there are some companies looking into enhancing their vulnerability assessment tools and free up some resources (it takes an analyst sometimes a week or two to deliver a full vulnerabilty assessment with Nessus).
I left you all with those ideas, let me know what you think.
