Nessus has helped hundreds of companies, big and small, to achieve a(...)
money is starting to flow again into the veins of corporate America there are some companies looking into enhancing their vulnerability assessment tools and free up some resources (it takes an analyst sometimes a week or two to deliver a full vulnerabilty assessment with Nessus).
As far as I see it, Nessus as a whole (both the product and the users community) will benefit more from corporations providing resources to develop new features into Nessus (some corporations, have, for example, devoted personnel to the development of the database backend) than just throw money in.
Of course, if that money goes to Tenable, it does also sustain the Nessus development, since, after all, Renaud gets paid for the work he does (probably not as much as he deserves). So maybe purchasing Tenable products or making a support contract for Tenable is another way to fund Nessus.
