The old version would work reasonably with Nessus version 1.0, but not with Nessus 1.2 (much less 2.0). The new version now interoperates with Nessus 2.0. It reads script information directly from nessusd, and stores multiple cross-reference links in a separate relational table.
Before you get your hopes up too much: The user interface is largely the same as it was in version 0.1a. A few bugs have been fixed. A few have undoubtably been introduced. There are some newer web front ends to Nessus that are "slicker" than this one; you might want to try out some of those. But for those few die-hard users of "Nessus PHP Interface" you can now upgrade to Nessus 2.0.
Changes:
* The categories have been cleaned up (thanks to Nessus 2.0) * There is now a drop-down list for cross reference type (instead of just CVE). * Filling in XRef type but no XRef shows a (cruftily) formatted hyperlinked list. * There is now a "configure" script that will walk you through the process of setting up the package, as long as your system is similar to the GNU/Linux setup of the author. The configure script is larger than the software itself!
To Do:
* Several people including Tony Howlett have given me some nice patches for one thing or another; those ought to be rolled into a 0.2a or a 0.3. * A meta-interface that summarizes by subnet, machine type, category, etc. * Expert-system logic that knows how to detect and mollify false positives (e.g. reports of IIS issues on a Un*x platform :-)
