Type "nessus" at a commandline. If you see the following
message:

Ooops ...
  This nessus version has no gui support.  You need to give
nessus the
  arguments SERVER PORT LOGIN TRG RESULT as explained in
more detail
  using the --help option.

you have a couple of choices:

  1) Run nessus in batch as has been discussed already in
replies 
     to your postings.
  2) Install GTK along with its development libraries and 
     rebuild / reinstall Nessus.
  3) Use a different client; eg, NessusWX for Windows.
