Teardrop Q

I noticed some weird results from nmap while testing a network.  The  
teardrop test (id 10279) was enabled and showed up in a lot of the  
nessus output.  My question: could running the teardrop test against  
a host cause problems (e.g. packet loss) with a port scan against a  
host in the same network?  Looking at teardrop.nasl's source, I can't  
tell how much network trouble it would cause.
