Well this is bizarre. Can't find where I create user credentials to
login to the Nessus 3.0.2 daemon on OS X. When I first installed it,
the client connected fine but I don't remember if the installer script
asked me to create user credentials or not. I'm assuming it did.
Either way I can't seem to create a new user/password pair now, and
can't remember my previous credentials. There is no documentation or
online help available. In nessus 2.x it was easy to create users, but
it's unclear how to do this with OS X in version 3.

When Nessus gets installed on OSX, credentials are created under / Library/Nessus/Connections.xml. By default, only users in the admin group can read this file - if you're launching the Nessus Client as a non-admin, you may do 'chmod 0644 /Library/Nessus/Connections.xml'.

You can also create a user by doing /Library/Nessus/run/nessus- adduser from the terminal.
(graphical user management is next on our list of things to do).
