Are you sure you are able to connect to the port. For example, can you
telnet from the client to the server on that IP and establish a
connection? On either the server or the client do you have some sort of
firewall like ZoneAlarm or something? Sometimes they initially allow
connections but then flag them as something else (IPS-like mode) and kill
them. A lot of variables there. Make sure you can connect first using
telnet/netcat or something though and work from there.
