This looks like a mis-matched library version, which is what I thinking
of when I warned about mixing and matching a package installation with a source
build. You need to get the loader to pick up the right libraries. You can try
to do this via /etc/ld.so.conf or environment variables that the loader looks
at. It's a mess. The easiest thing to do would be to install the perl modules
corresponding to the package installed for your distribution.
