I'm about to agree with you - I think we probably
should plan to cut another 5.0.x release.

But that's only partly because of this problem - I'm
not convinced it warrants opening up a closed line
by itself.  But since we've still got the issue of
the snmpnetstat licensing hanging over the earlier
lines, there's probably a case for backporting the
5.2.2 version of that (assuming it works OK).

In which case, it would be sensible to incorporate
this fix as well.

But I don't think this is particularly urgent, and we
should really get the 5.2.2 and 5.3 releases out of
the way first.  (And probably update 5.1.x first, or
at least simultaneously).
