Hi All! I am running net-snmp 5.2rc2 on Solaris 8. For the most part everything is working correctly. However, I cannot access anything in the HOST-RESOURCES-MIB, even from the local machine. I get no errors, but I also get no data. The MIB file exists in /usr/local/share/snmp/mibs. I have also tried explicitely setting the MIB directory on the command line (-M).
I understand that just because a file exists does not mean the agent will use it. However, looking in config.log, I find entries: DEFAULT_MIBDIRS "$HOME/.snmp/mibs:/usr/local/share/snmp/mibs" #define DEFAULT_MIBS "IP-MIB:IF-MIB:TCP-MIB:UDP-MIB:HOST-RESOURCES-MIB:SNMPv2-MIB:RFC1213-MIB :NOTIFICATION-LOG-MIB:UCD-SNMP-MIB:UCD-DEMO-MIB:SNMP-TARGET-MIB:NET-SNMP -AGENT-MIB:SNMP-VIEW-BASED-ACM-MIB:SNMP-COMMUNITY-MIB:NET-SNMP-EXTEND-MI B:UCD-DLMOD-MIB:SNMP-FRAMEWORK-MIB:SNMP-MPD-MIB:SNMP-USER-BASED-SM-MIB:S NMP-NOTIFICATION-MIB:SNMPv2-TM" That makes me think that the MIB will be read. I went so far as to explicitely set it by starting snmpd like this: /usr/local/sbin/snmpd -d -M /usr/local/share/snmp/mibs Still the snmpwalk is empty. It works when I specified other machines. All I do is change the IP address, but the rest of the command is the same. Therefore, I do not believe it is an issue with the agent. A walk of .1.3.6.1.mgmt.mib-2 works, but with the host branch. The file itself does not appear to be corrupt.
